Onboarding Course: Confluence
Overview:
To create a comprehensive onboarding learning path for new hires that would get them acquainted with the primary communication tools, learning tools, and collaboration tools used across the Enterprise. This tools and resources course was the second in a series of 5.

Mode: On-Demand
Software: Storyline
Audience: New Hires
Problem:
Our company had no official onboarding for new hires and information was inconsistent across departments or completely overlooked. We did not want to give new hires training that would be passive and not help them use the tools.
Solution:
Use the tools to teach the tools. We created a series of courses that show the employees how to use the tools by guiding them on how to complete tasks in the tools. It was my idea that rather than having resources included in the courses that would requite the employee to return to the course to access the, we house all of the relevant information in Confluence. I created a Confluence space dedicated to all of the information a new hire would need including how to access each tool, the expectations for each tool, who to call when they needed help, and where to find additional training if desired.
Outcome:
So far only the CEO and COO have taken the course. The COO just joined our team a few weeks before we released this course. The course identified that the COO was missing certain permissions in Confluence and highlighted some inconsistency in groupings and permissions across the enterprise that can now be addressed.
